“Kyoto Traditional Art & Craft Research Institute Exhibition” is held from Tue, Mar 14 to Sun, Mar 19.

ARCHI-DEPOT Museum will collaborate with Kyoto Traditional Art & Craft Association and hold “Kyoto Traditional Art & Craft Research Institute Exhibition” from Tue, Mar 14 to Sun, Mar 19, 2017. During the exhibition, we will open a shop for an only limited time and sell goods that embody present Kyoto craft mixing tradition and innovation. In addition, gallery talk “Future of Architecture and Traditional Craft – Building Materials Came out of Urushi Makie Research” is held by Mr. Yutaro Shimode, who is a Kyoto makie craftsman and the first person that got a doctor’s degree as a traditional craftsman. Moreover, he is the third generation of Shimode makie-studio that engages in high technology, the development of materials, and the restoration research for Momoyama period.
